Okyanos Global Health

Okyanos Center for Regenerative Medicine, also known as Okyanos Global Health, was a specialized healthcare facility located in Freeport, Bahamas, that focused on adult stem cell therapy. The center primarily utilized adipose-derived regenerative cells (ADRCs) to treat patients with chronic, degenerative conditions such as cardiovascular disease, orthopedic issues, and autoimmune disorders. Using the Cytori Celution System, Okyanos isolated a patient's own stem cells from fat tissue for immediate, same-day treatment. The facility operated under the oversight of the Bahamas National Stem Cell Ethics Committee and was a key player in the medical tourism sector for regenerative medicine. Despite its prominence, the center reportedly ceased operations around 2021.
