Company intelligence / Profile preview
Olympia Medical Center was a 204-bed acute care hospital located in Los Angeles, California, that provided comprehensive medical and surgical services to the Mid-Wilshire community. Originally established as Midway Hospital Medical Center in 1948, the facility offered specialized programs in wound care, geriatric emergency medicine, and diagnostic imaging. In January 2021, the hospital was acquired by UCLA Health, which announced plans to convert the site into a state-of-the-art neuropsychiatric and mental health facility. Consequently, Olympia Medical Center officially suspended its general medical services on March 31, 2021, marking the end of its tenure as a community acute care provider. The transition was part of a broader effort by UCLA Health to expand inpatient psychiatric bed capacity in the region.
