Olympus Biotech was a subsidiary of the Olympus Corporation dedicated to the development and commercialization of regenerative medicine therapies, specifically in the field of orthopedics. The company's core business centered on the OP-1 (Osteogenic Protein-1) product line, which utilized recombinant human Bone Morphogenetic Protein-7 (rhBMP-7) to promote bone healing in patients with complex fractures and spinal conditions. Formed in 2010 after Olympus acquired the OP-1 assets from Stryker, the company maintained significant R&D and manufacturing operations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
