OM-Free is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis (OM), a common and debilitating side effect of cancer therapy. The company was founded by Dr. Stephen Sonis, a world-renowned expert in oral medicine and the biological basis of mucosal toxicities. OM-Free's lead candidate, OM-001, is a proprietary topical formulation designed to mitigate the inflammatory pathways that lead to mucosal injury in the oral cavity. Currently in Phase 2 clinical trials, OM-001 is being evaluated for its ability to reduce the severity and duration of OM in patients with head and neck cancer undergoing chemoradiation.
