OMG Americas, formerly a primary operating subsidiary of OM Group, was a leading specialty chemicals company that provided critical metal-based intermediates and catalysts to the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. The company specialized in the production of high-purity metal carboxylates and inorganic salts used as catalysts in the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and as essential nutrients in the production of vitamins, such as Vitamin B12. Additionally, through its ownership of EaglePicher Technologies, the company was a significant provider of medical power solutions, including specialized batteries for implantable devices like pacemakers and defibrillators. Following the acquisition of OM Group by Apollo Global Management in 2015, the company's various divisions were divested or merged into other entities, with the specialty chemicals business eventually becoming part of Vibrantz Technologies.
