OmniCorder Technologies was a medical diagnostics company specializing in high-resolution digital infrared imaging for the early detection of cancer and other physiological conditions. The company's flagship product, the Bio-Scan system, utilized advanced infrared sensors originally developed for aerospace applications to map skin temperature and detect abnormal metabolic activity or angiogenesis. This non-invasive, radiation-free technology was primarily targeted at breast cancer screening and the monitoring of vascular diseases. The Bio-Scan system received FDA 510(k) clearance in 1999 as an adjunctive diagnostic tool. OmniCorder was acquired by L-3 Communications in 2005 to integrate its thermal imaging capabilities into a broader medical and security portfolio.
