Its core product platform, iSpyDx, was positioned as a low-cost portable device for detecting pathogens in food, water, plant, and potentially human samples in roughly 30 to 40 minutes without specialized lab infrastructure. The company emerged from Purdue University-affiliated research and highlighted applications including cholera detection in water as well as broader DNA and RNA pathogen testing. OmniVis appears to have focused on commercializing rapid molecular diagnostics rather than therapeutics, and third-party business databases now indicate that the company is permanently closed.
