Omscan was an Israeli medical technology company that developed a proprietary system for the real-time, non-invasive monitoring of microcirculation and tissue metabolism. The company's core technology, based on the work of Professor Avraham Mayevsky, utilized multi-parametric sensors to assess tissue vitality by measuring parameters such as mitochondrial function (NADH fluorescence), blood flow (Laser Doppler), and oxygenation. Designed primarily for use in critical care and surgical settings, the Omscan device aimed to provide clinicians with early warnings of tissue ischemia or metabolic distress. While the technology showed significant promise in clinical research, the company is no longer active in its original form.
