Company intelligence / Profile preview
Oncalis AG was a Swiss biotechnology company founded in 2006 as a spin-off from ESBATech AG to focus on small molecule drug discovery. Headquartered in Schlieren, Switzerland, the company specialized in developing orally available kinase inhibitors for the treatment of various cancers. Its core technology was a yeast-cell based, high-throughput screening platform designed to identify potent inhibitors of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). In 2008, Oncalis expanded its portfolio by in-licensing a family of PI3K inhibitors from ChemDiv, including the lead candidate ONC-201. However, the company was unable to progress its candidates into clinical trials and was eventually liquidated around 2012.
