Overview

Oncorena’s lead program ONC175 (synthetic orellanine) has entered Phase I/II clinical trials for metastatic renal cell carcinoma in dialysis-dependent patients. The first patient was treated in August 2023 at Karolinska University Hospital without complications. The trial evaluates safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and anti-tumor efficacy. FDA IND approval was granted in March 2025 to expand the study into the US and Europe. If successful, the indication may be expanded to all mRCC patients not responding to first-line therapy.
