Onepharm

Onepharm was a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Vienna, Austria, that specialized in the development of small molecule therapeutics for inflammatory and infectious diseases. The company's lead candidate, OPI-101, was a first-in-class neutrophil elastase inhibitor developed for the treatment of periodontitis, aiming to prevent tissue destruction in the oral cavity. Onepharm also maintained an active antiviral research program, notably developing OPI-214 for the treatment of influenza and other respiratory viral infections. In 2014, the company was acquired by AOP Orphan Pharmaceuticals (now AOP Health), which integrated Onepharm's research capabilities and pipeline into its portfolio of treatments for rare and complex diseases. The acquisition allowed for the continued clinical advancement of Onepharm's core technologies under a larger corporate umbrella, focusing on specialized medical needs.
