Ontario Cancer Research Network

The Ontario Cancer Research Network (OCRN) was a non-profit organization established in 2001 by the Government of Ontario to enhance the province's capacity for cancer research and clinical trials. It functioned as a coordinating body, providing funding and infrastructure to facilitate multi-center clinical studies and translational research projects. By fostering partnerships between academia, healthcare providers, and the biotechnology industry, the OCRN aimed to bring new cancer therapies to patients more efficiently. In late 2005, the organization was integrated into the newly launched Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR), which inherited its mission and expanded its scope to include a broader range of cancer-related disciplines. The OCRN is recognized for laying the groundwork for Ontario's current leadership in oncology research.
