Company intelligence / Profile preview
ONUX Medical was a medical technology company that specialized in the development of innovative suturing and soft tissue approximation devices for minimally invasive surgery. Its flagship technology, the Onux Retractable Suture System, was designed to simplify and standardize the suturing process in laparoscopic procedures, such as hernia repair. The device allowed surgeons to place sutures in difficult-to-reach areas with greater precision and ease compared to traditional manual techniques. In 2004, the company was acquired by C. R. Bard and integrated into its Davol subsidiary, which focused on specialized surgical products. This acquisition allowed Bard to expand its portfolio of fixation and closure technologies for the surgical market.
