Opiostop was a medical technology company focused on developing a wearable device designed to detect and automatically reverse opioid overdoses. The company's primary technology involved a closed-loop system that monitored respiration patterns and oxygen saturation to identify signs of opioid toxicity. Upon detection of an overdose event, the wearable device was engineered to automatically administer a subcutaneous injection of naloxone, a life-saving opioid antagonist. Developed in collaboration with researchers from the University of Washington, the prototype aimed to provide a timely intervention for individuals at high risk of accidental death from opioid use.
