Optics11 Life has developed commercialized fiber-optic-based instruments that enable high-throughput, non-destructive mechanical characterization of cells, tissues, organoids, spheroids, hydrogels and other soft biomaterials. Their tools are used in drug development pipelines and regenerative medicine research to provide actionable data on stiffness, viscoelasticity and force generation under near physiological conditions. The company’s products support advanced disease modeling, drug screening and biomaterial quality control across multiple therapeutic areas including fibrosis, oncology/cancer biology, cardiology/heart disease models and muscle disorders. Customers include pharmaceutical companies as well as academic labs.

No clinical trial results apply since the company does not develop therapeutics but enables translational research.

Recent funding (€5M in September 2022) supports expansion into the US market.
