Orasense

OraSense was a biotechnology company focused on the development of saliva-based diagnostic tests for the early detection of oral cancer. The company's primary technology utilized biomarkers such as CD44 and total protein levels to identify patients at high risk for oral and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Founded by Matthew H.J. Kim, the company aimed to provide a non-invasive, point-of-care solution to improve survival rates through earlier diagnosis. OraSense eventually served as the foundation for the establishment of Vigilant Biosciences, which continued the development and commercialization of the saliva-based oncological diagnostic platform.
