Overview
Orcrist Bio was a Canadian biotechnology company based in Calgary that specialized in the development of stem cell-mobilizing pharmaceuticals. The company's lead program, HYC750, was a proprietary formulation of hyaluronan (HA) designed to stimulate the release of hematopoietic stem cells and neutrophils from the bone marrow into the peripheral blood. This technology was primarily aimed at treating chemotherapy-induced blood cell depletion and improving the efficiency of stem cell harvesting for transplantation. Orcrist Bio reached the Phase 1 clinical trial stage in 2009, but the company has since ceased its biotechnology operations.
