Oregon Osteoporosis Center

Oregon Osteoporosis Center (OOC) is a specialized medical clinic and clinical research facility located in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1987 by Dr. Michael R. McClung, the center is a global leader in the evaluation and treatment of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone disorders. OOC has served as a primary site for numerous landmark clinical trials that led to the FDA approval of essential bone health medications, including bisphosphonates, denosumab, and romosozumab. The center provides comprehensive patient care, including advanced diagnostic services such as Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scans. It remains at the forefront of bone health research, contributing to the development of international clinical guidelines and risk assessment tools like the FRAX tool. OOC is closely affiliated with the Providence Health & Services system, operating within the Providence Portland Medical Center campus.
