Organics, Inc. was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and manufacturing of synthetic hormone replacement therapies. The company was best known for its expertise in producing complex, multi-component synthetic conjugated and esterified estrogens. Its lead product, Cenestin (synthetic conjugated estrogens, A), was developed as a plant-derived alternative to traditional animal-derived estrogen therapies for the treatment of vasomotor symptoms associated with menopause. In 2005, the company was acquired by Solvay Pharmaceuticals, which sought to strengthen its women's health portfolio with Organics' manufacturing capabilities and commercial assets.
