Company intelligence / Profile preview
Origo Biopharma was a Spanish clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on organ-restricted small molecule therapies targeting the transforming growth factor beta pathway for fibrosis and oncology-related indications. The company developed locally acting TGF-beta pathway inhibitors designed to avoid the systemic toxicities associated with broader pathway blockade. Its lead asset, ORG-129, entered Phase 1 development for fibrostenotic Crohn's disease, while ORG-447 was in IND-enabling preclinical development for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Origo also described work in colorectal cancer and other TGF-beta-linked diseases. In December 2021, the company was acquired by AgomAb Therapeutics, which integrated Origo's pipeline, team, and R&D capabilities.
