ORINCON was a technology company specializing in signal processing, pattern recognition, and neural networks, primarily serving the defense and intelligence communities. However, the company established a significant presence in the healthcare and life sciences sectors through its medical products group and its subsidiary, ORINCON Sygenex. The company developed advanced algorithms for medical signal analysis, including heart sound analysis for cardiac diagnosis and EEG/EKG processing, as well as bioinformatics software for genomic data analysis and drug discovery. ORINCON was acquired by Lockheed Martin in 2003 to integrate its sophisticated information technology and signal processing capabilities into Lockheed's broader systems.
