Orion Breweries

Orion Breweries is a leading Japanese beverage company and the fifth-largest brewery in Japan, primarily known for its dominant market share of over 60% in the Okinawa Prefecture. Founded in 1957, the company produces a variety of beers, including its flagship 'Orion Draft,' as well as chuhai (spirit-based soda) and soft drinks. In 2019, it was acquired by a consortium led by Nomura Holdings and The Carlyle Group, which focused on expanding its international presence and diversifying its product line. The company successfully completed an initial public offering on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in September 2025. While it maintains a strong focus on regional identity and tourism-related businesses in Okinawa, it has also expanded into the health-conscious beverage market.
