Ortho-McNeil Neurologics was a specialized pharmaceutical division of Johnson & Johnson focused on the central nervous system and pain management markets. The company was responsible for the commercialization and development of several high-profile therapies, most notably the blockbuster epilepsy and migraine prevention drug Topamax. Its portfolio also included Razadyne for Alzheimer's disease and Axert for the acute treatment of migraine. In 2008, the division was consolidated with other Johnson & Johnson units to form Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals, which later transitioned into the Janssen Pharmaceuticals brand. The entity played a significant role in advancing Johnson & Johnson's presence in the neurology and psychiatry sectors during the early to mid-2000s.
