OSDE BioCubafarma

BioCubafarma is the Cuban state-owned umbrella organization that manages the country's biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Established in 2012, it oversees over 30 research and production entities, including the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) and the Center of Molecular Immunology (CIM). The group is responsible for the development, manufacture, and international commercialization of high-tech products such as the Heberprot-P for diabetic foot ulcers, the CIMAvax-EGF lung cancer vaccine, and several COVID-19 vaccines like Abdala and Soberana. BioCubafarma operates with a closed-cycle model, integrating research, development, production, and marketing to address national health priorities and export to over 50 countries.
