OSF HealthPlans

OSF HealthPlans was a managed care organization and health insurance provider headquartered in Peoria, Illinois. As a subsidiary of the OSF HealthCare system, it offered a range of health insurance products including HMO, PPO, and Medicare Advantage plans to individuals and employer groups. The company primarily served the Illinois market, leveraging the extensive provider network of its parent organization. In May 2008, OSF HealthPlans was acquired by Humana, which subsequently integrated the business and its approximately 78,000 members into its regional operations. This acquisition allowed Humana to significantly expand its presence in the Central and Northern Illinois markets.
