Osteohealth was a biotechnology company and a division of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals, specializing in regenerative medicine for dental and orthopedic applications. The company was a pioneer in the use of recombinant growth factors, specifically with its flagship product GEM 21S (Growth-factor Enhanced Matrix), which was the first purified recombinant growth factor approved by the FDA for use in dentistry. In addition to its proprietary products, Osteohealth served as a major distributor for Geistlich Pharma's bone regeneration materials, including Bio-Oss and Bio-Gide, in the United States for many years. Following the rebranding of Luitpold Pharmaceuticals to American Regent in 2019, Osteohealth's operations and product portfolio were integrated into the parent company's broader regenerative medicine business. The company's legacy remains centered on advancing tissue engineering and bone grafting technologies to improve clinical outcomes in periodontal and oral surgery.
