Company intelligence / Profile preview
Osteometer MediTech was a Danish medical technology company that specialized in the development and manufacture of bone densitometry systems for the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis. The company was a pioneer in peripheral dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (pDXA) technology, which allowed for the assessment of bone mineral density in peripheral sites such as the forearm. Its flagship products, including the DTX-200 and DTX-100, provided a portable and cost-effective alternative to central DXA scanners, making bone health screening more accessible in primary care settings. In 2002, Osteometer MediTech was acquired by the French medical imaging group Diagnostic Medical Systems (DMS), which integrated the company's technology into its global bone health and radiology portfolio.
