Company intelligence / Profile preview
Osiris Therapeutics pioneered the development and commercialization of mesenchymal stem cell therapies, notably Prochymal (remestemcel-L, later Ryoncil), which became the first systemically administered stem cell drug globally to receive regulatory clearance for pediatric acute graft-versus-host disease; the company also launched Grafix for wound care, with clinical validation for diabetic foot ulcers. In 2019, Osiris was acquired by Smith & Nephew, and its MSC drug assets (such as Ryoncil) were sold to Mesoblast, which has further advanced clinical development and received additional global regulatory approvals[1][2][3].
