Outcomes Research Consortium

Outcomes Research Consortium is a non-profit academic research organization focused on perioperative medicine, anesthesiology, critical care, pain management, and surgical outcomes research. Rather than operating as a drug-development biotech, it designs and runs investigator-initiated and sponsored clinical studies, including multicenter international trials, data management, regulatory support, and outcomes analyses. The consortium works with university hospitals and corporate partners to evaluate devices, pharmaceuticals, and care practices intended to improve surgical safety and patient experience. It is best known as a large global anesthesia research network led by Daniel I. Sessler and affiliated with the Center for Outcomes Research at UTHealth. The organization appears active and service-oriented rather than product-pipeline driven.
