OxMet Technologies is a materials science company that utilizes its proprietary Alloy by Design (ABD) computational platform to develop high-performance alloys for demanding medical and industrial applications. Spun out from the University of Oxford, the company specializes in creating biocompatible alloys, such as high-strength titanium and nickel-free stainless steels, specifically optimized for additive manufacturing (3D printing) in the orthopedic and dental sectors. Their technology enables the rapid discovery of alloys with tailored mechanical properties and improved osseointegration characteristics for surgical implants. In July 2023, OxMet was acquired by Sandvik, integrating its advanced metallurgy software and proprietary alloy powders into Sandvik's additive manufacturing business unit.
