Overview
PacBio’s SMRT and HiFi long-read sequencing systems have enabled major advances in genomics research, including the detection of pathogenic variants in rare diseases that were previously undetectable with other methods. Their new SPRQ chemistry has reduced the cost per human genome to under $500 while increasing throughput. Clinical collaborations have demonstrated utility in prenatal health and carrier/newborn screening programs.
