PacifiCare Behavioral Health (PBH) was a leading managed behavioral healthcare organization that provided comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services. As a subsidiary of PacifiCare Health Systems, the company managed provider networks and clinical programs for millions of members across the United States. PBH was particularly noted for its data-driven approach to clinical outcomes and its robust Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). In 2005, the parent company was acquired by UnitedHealth Group in a deal valued at approximately $8.1 billion.
