Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pandemic Response Lab was a U.S. molecular diagnostics company and clinical laboratory network launched in 2020 to provide high-throughput, low-cost COVID-19 testing and genomic surveillance. The business was created by Opentrons Labworks in partnership with NYU Langone scientists and supported early on by New York City public-health initiatives. PRL operated CLIA-certified labs and offered PCR testing, pooled testing, and non-diagnostic next-generation sequencing for variant detection, including early identification of major SARS-CoV-2 variants in New York. The company expanded beyond New York to additional lab sites in Maryland and California and also supported schools, health systems, employers, and public-sector customers nationwide. Despite plans to broaden into broader disease-panel diagnostics, PRL announced that it would wind down operations effective December 31, 2022, as Opentrons pivoted away from these clinical lab services.
