Paracor Medical developed the HeartNet™ Ventricular Support System, a nitinol mesh device designed to be implanted around the heart to provide elastic reinforcement and reduce stress in patients with congestive heart failure. The system was intended as a less invasive alternative to open-chest surgery. Initial US clinical experience was reported, but the company is no longer active and its programs are discontinued.
