Parkdale Pharmaceuticals

Parkdale Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company that operated as the respiratory and pediatric division of Bradley Pharmaceuticals. The company focused on the marketing and distribution of therapies for respiratory distress, asthma, and allergic conditions. Its flagship product was Curosurf (poractant alfa), a biological surfactant used to treat Respiratory Distress Syndrome in premature infants. Parkdale also managed a portfolio of cough and cold treatments, including the Deconsal and Rondec product lines. In 2008, the company's parent, Bradley Pharmaceuticals, was acquired by Nycomed for approximately $346 million. Following the acquisition, the rights to Curosurf were eventually transitioned to Chiesi Farmaceutici, and Parkdale's operations were integrated into the larger corporate structure of the acquirer.
