Company intelligence / Profile preview
Parsagen Diagnostics was a Boston-area women’s health diagnostics company focused on rapid point-of-care testing in obstetrics. Its lead product, PartoSure, is a bedside immunochromatographic assay designed to detect placental alpha microglobulin-1 (PAMG-1) in cervicovaginal secretions to help assess the risk of spontaneous preterm delivery in symptomatic pregnant women. The company operated as an early-stage medical device and in vitro diagnostics developer before being acquired by QIAGEN. Following the acquisition, PartoSure received U.S. FDA approval in 2018 and became part of QIAGEN’s maternal and gynecological health portfolio. Parsagen appears to have been primarily a single-product company rather than a broad therapeutics developer.
