Partnerships UK

Partnerships UK (PUK) was a public-private partnership (PPP) body in the United Kingdom, established in 2000 as a joint venture between HM Treasury, the Scottish Executive, and private sector shareholders. While not a traditional biotechnology or pharmaceutical company, PUK played a critical role in the healthcare sector by managing the NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) program, which facilitated the development of primary care and community healthcare facilities. The company provided commercial, financial, and project management expertise to public sector bodies to improve the procurement and management of complex infrastructure projects. In 2010, the company's functions were integrated into Infrastructure UK within the Treasury, and its local government support functions were transitioned to Local Partnerships.
