Pathwork Diagnostics

Pathwork Diagnostics was a U.S. molecular diagnostics company focused on oncology and best known for its Pathwork Tissue of Origin Test, a microarray-based gene expression assay designed to identify the tissue of origin of difficult-to-classify tumors. The company commercialized FDA-cleared and Medicare-reimbursed diagnostic products and services for metastatic, poorly differentiated, and undifferentiated cancers, including versions for frozen tissue and FFPE specimens. Pathwork operated a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory and also offered its test in kit form to clinical laboratories. The business ceased operations in 2013, and substantially all key assets were acquired by Response Genetics in August 2013.
