Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pavad Medical was a medical device company focused on the development of innovative treatments for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Based in Fremont, California, the company developed a minimally invasive, adjustable implant designed to prevent airway collapse during sleep by providing structural support to the upper airway. The technology utilized shape-memory materials to offer a permanent solution for patients who were non-compliant with or unable to tolerate continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy. Although the company reached the clinical testing stage and received significant venture capital investment, it is no longer active in the market. The founders later went on to establish Siesta Medical, which pursued similar clinical goals using related intellectual property.
