Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pay By Touch (officially Solidus Networks, Inc.) was a San Francisco-based biometric authentication and payment company founded in 2002. The company developed a platform that allowed consumers to pay for goods and services or access loyalty programs using a fingerprint scan linked to their financial accounts. While primarily focused on retail and fintech, Pay By Touch also targeted the healthcare industry, developing solutions for patient identification, secure access to medical records, and co-payment processing at pharmacies and clinics. Despite raising over $340 million and acquiring several companies, the firm collapsed due to financial mismanagement and legal scandals involving its founder, filing for bankruptcy in 2007 and ceasing operations in 2008.
