Pedanius Therapeutics

Pedanius Therapeutics was a London-based biotechnology company focused on developing gene therapies for the treatment of inherited retinal diseases. The company was established by world-renowned researchers from the University College London (UCL) Institute of Ophthalmology to commercialize breakthrough treatments for blindness. Its primary technology involved the use of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors to deliver functional genes to the retina. Pedanius was acquired by MeiraGTx in 2015, providing the latter with a robust pipeline of ocular programs. Today, its legacy programs continue to progress through clinical trials under the MeiraGTx banner.
