Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario

The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) is a non-profit organization that serves as the official advisor to the Ontario Ministry of Health on pediatric cancer care. Established in 1983, POGO coordinates a provincial network of specialized childhood cancer programs to ensure equitable access to high-quality treatment and support services. The organization maintains the POGO Specialized Care Resources for Children with Cancer (POGONIS) registry, which is a comprehensive database used for surveillance, health system planning, and population-based research. POGO also provides financial assistance to families, supports survivors through specialized aftercare clinics, and funds research into the long-term effects of cancer treatment. By integrating clinical care, policy development, and family support, POGO works to improve the childhood cancer journey from diagnosis through survivorship.
