Pelias Biomedical Development

Pelias Biomedical Development was a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in San Diego, California, that focused on developing regenerative therapies for cardiovascular diseases. The company's lead product candidate, PB-127, is a synthetic analog of the naturally occurring peptide Angiotensin (1-7), which acts as a potent agonist of the Mas receptor. PB-127 was primarily investigated for its potential to reduce infarct size and improve cardiac remodeling in patients following acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Pelias successfully advanced PB-127 into a Phase 2 clinical trial, known as the PULSE-AMI study, to evaluate its safety and efficacy in patients undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention. Despite its clinical progress, the company was dissolved in 2019, and its development programs are no longer active under the Pelias banner.
