Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pelican Life Sciences was a life sciences platform company established in 2005 by the private equity firm Linden LLC (now Linden Capital Partners). The company was designed to consolidate the fragmented laboratory consumables and diagnostic products market through a strategic "buy-and-build" acquisition strategy. During its operation, Pelican acquired several key entities, including Scientech, Somagen Diagnostics, and Clinical Diagnostics, allowing it to offer a comprehensive range of laboratory equipment, reagents, and diagnostic kits to clinical and research institutions. In February 2008, the company was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific, where its operations were integrated into Thermo Fisher's Laboratory Products and Services segment.
