Company intelligence / Profile preview
Pelican Life Sciences Group was a specialized provider of laboratory products and consumables serving the life sciences, clinical diagnostic, and pharmaceutical industries. Established in 2005 as a platform company by the private equity firm Linden Capital Partners, the company executed a "buy-and-build" strategy by acquiring several niche manufacturers, including Lake Charles Manufacturing and Kemp Biotechnologies. Its product portfolio primarily focused on sample collection, storage, and preparation tools essential for laboratory workflows. In February 2008, the company was acquired by Thermo Fisher Scientific and integrated into its laboratory products division. This acquisition allowed Thermo Fisher to expand its range of proprietary consumables and strengthen its position in the life science tools market.
