Penederm was a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of topical dermatological products. The company's portfolio was highlighted by Avita (tretinoin), a treatment for acne vulgaris, and Acticin (permethrin), used for the treatment of scabies. Penederm utilized proprietary drug delivery technologies to enhance the efficacy and safety profiles of established therapeutic agents. In 1998, the company was acquired by Mylan Laboratories to strengthen its presence in the branded dermatology market. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Mylan's specialty pharmaceutical divisions.
