Penicillin General Integrated Industrial Company is an Iraqi state-owned pharmaceutical enterprise operating under the Ministry of Industry and Minerals. Based in Baghdad, the company is dedicated to the large-scale production of essential beta-lactam antibiotics, including penicillin and its various derivatives. The facility was established as a strategic project to ensure national drug security and reduce the country's dependence on imported antimicrobial agents. Its operations encompass industrial-scale fermentation, chemical synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and final product packaging. In recent years, the company has sought international partnerships to modernize its production lines and align with global Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
