Pentraxin Therapeutics

Pentraxin Therapeutics, a University College London spinout founded in 2001 by Professor Sir Mark Pepys, focuses on developing drugs targeting the pathogenic mechanisms underlying systemic amyloidoses and related diseases. Its lead programs target serum amyloid P-component with both small molecules and monoclonal antibodies. The most advanced clinical candidates are in phase II trials for various forms of systemic amyloidosis. The company has also explored applications in Alzheimer’s disease, type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and inflammatory conditions but its primary clinical focus remains on rare forms of systemic amyloid diseases.
