Pepinemab Development Venture is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) created to fund and manage the clinical development of pepinemab, a humanized monoclonal antibody. The venture was established through a strategic financing agreement with Vaccinex, specifically to support the Phase 2 SIGNAL-AD trial in Alzheimer's disease. Pepinemab works by blocking Semaphorin 4D (SEMA4D), a protein that triggers neuroinflammation and the loss of metabolic activity in the brain. This investment structure allows for dedicated capital to advance the lead candidate through key clinical milestones in neurodegenerative indications. The venture's primary objective is to demonstrate the efficacy of SEMA4D inhibition in slowing cognitive decline and preserving brain function.
