Pequot Private Equity (also known as Pequot Ventures) was the venture capital and private equity arm of Pequot Capital Management, a prominent investment firm founded by Arthur J. Samberg. The firm was a significant player in life sciences and healthcare investing during the late 1990s and early 2000s, managing over $1.8 billion in capital commitments across multiple funds. Its life sciences practice focused on biotechnology, medical devices, and technology-enabled healthcare services, backing notable companies such as Insulet, Sequenom, Codexis, and Horizon Therapeutics.
